Frequently asked questions
Q. What age is best for kids to start learning typing?
From our 6-month study, age 6½–7 is the sweet spot. Under 6 the small hand muscles aren't developed enough, leading to inaccurate key presses and bad habits. Starting at 6½ with 10-15 min/day, basic key awareness is built in 2-3 weeks.
Q. How long should a kid practice typing each day?
10-15 minutes once a day beats a 1-hour weekend marathon. Our /typing course caps each level at 5-10 minutes with built-in "take a break" animations.
Q. How long after typing can my kid start Python?
After finishing all 13 levels (~2-3 weeks of 10-15 min/day practice), most kids can touch-type the left-hand 8 keys (ASDF JKL;) and are ready for their first line of print in Python. Speed doesn't matter — accuracy does.
